Why Solaris refuse to use my custom address?

This command works fine

ifconfig e1000g1 inet6 plumb up fe80::5254:ee:fdc7:a479/10

This one not

ifconfig e1000g1 inet6 unplumb
ifconfig e1000g1 inet6 plumb up 418:5b17:d32a:8023::2/64
ifconfig: SIOCSLIFADDR: e1000g1: Cannot assign requested address

The address is valid, the command addif accept it

ifconfig e1000g1 inet6 addif 418:5b17:d32a:8023::2/64 plumb up
Created new logical interface e1000g1:1

Why refuse it for physical interface?
