I’m reaching out for advice regarding a persistent issue with importing templates via the Starter Templates plugin in WordPress. This problem has been ongoing for over two weeks, and despite multiple clean reinstallations, it still hasn’t been resolved.

Situation description: I’m using Wedos NoLimit web hosting, with a clean WordPress installation, the Astra theme, and the plugins Elementor PRO and Starter Templates — all in their latest versions. When I click Starter Templates → Get Started, the interface should open, allowing me to choose between Elementor or Gutenberg, and then select a starter template. However, I now get only a blank white screen — the plugin doesn’t launch at all. Before reinstalling WordPress, the interface at least loaded, but the import process always froze between 9–25%. It got stuck loading one specific page (e.g., “About”), and within minutes, hundreds of duplicate pages appeared in WordPress until I manually stopped the process.

What we’ve already tried: • Clean reinstallation of WordPress on the domain. • Only using Astra, Elementor PRO, and Starter Templates — no other plugins. • Deactivating and reactivating plugins one by one. • Trying different Starter Templates (same result). • Using a different browser and internet connection. • Confirming PHP parameters with the hosting provider (Wedos confirmed limits are sufficient). • Contacting Wedos support — they confirmed no outgoing requests are blocked (e.g., to websitedemos.net) and that the issue is not server-related on their end. • Testing on a different computer and a separate Wedos NoLimit account — there everything works perfectly.

Additional details: • Both computers run Windows 10. • The one where Starter Templates don’t work has no antivirus installed (only Windows Defender). • The one where everything works fine has Avast Antivirus installed. • Same WordPress settings, plugin versions, and hosting provider. • PHP version: 8.2 • Hosting plan: Wedos NoLimit • Domain: mistyvale.cz

We’re looking for advice on:

  1. What could specifically cause the white screen or import freeze at 9–25% when using Starter Templates?
  2. Could it be a communication issue between the plugin and websitedemos.net (e.g., related to cURL, mod_security, DNS, or Cloudflare)?
  3. Is it possible that the issue occurs only at the PC or browser level, even if everything else seems fine?
  4. Is there a proven way to fully reset Starter Templates, including its cache or API connection?
  5. Could disabling Windows Defender or installing another antivirus, or opening specific ports, help resolve the issue?

Additional note: Wedos support stated that websitedemos.net uses Cloudflare DNS servers and suggested contacting Cloudflare directly — but as an end user, that’s not really an option. That’s why I’m asking here — maybe someone with experience using Starter Templates or Astra has encountered (and solved) a similar issue.

Any insights, experiences, or troubleshooting ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!
