News, everybody!

Unfortunately, we won't be able to implement the new citation helper feature into the Stack Exchange code any time soon. However, this shouldn't prevent us from using it.

I've received clearance from everyone involved to release this feature as a Tampermonkey userscript.

To prevent too much running around, I would like to run a small beta test first, and so I'd like to invite a few people to register for this beta test which will run throughout the month of December, in preparation of a public release in January.

If you are interested, please leave a comment (and only the comments here, any emails or messages elsewhere will be promptly ignored). Feel free to advertise this to other websites throughout SE as well. The goal is to make sure that the citations are formatted correctly and that no major problems occur with the script.

I cannot promise to include everyone, but I will try.

$\begingroup$ Just an idea: if it can run as a userscript, it can probably be run in the same way as the reputation hiding? $\endgroup$ Commented Nov 26 at 11:24

$\begingroup$ @Glorfindel: That would only be applicable to MathOverflow, then, and I want this to be a feature that can be used across SE websites. $\endgroup$ Commented Nov 26 at 12:58
