Anyone familiar with what type of screw bit driver I need for this?

  • That is an odd one. The good thing is that a large slot screwdriver or similar shape should turn it, if not needed to be very tight. Almost looks like the shape use on bungs/stoppers for barrels, but they are a bit over an inch. Commented Jan 29 at 16:01
  • Very odd. A square drive would take it out more easily than put it in but the right size would drive it either way. So not much use for security/anti-tamper (of course, as you could almost certainly find a slot driver that would do on a diagonal). Some sizes of slot driver would do it up nicely but not undo it. But what's it made of? I'm starting to doubt if it's metal. Commented Jan 29 at 16:06

Probably someone's proprietary security design. Commented Jan 29 at 16:18

Are you intending to re-use this fastener? Or are you purely interested in removing it once, discarding, and replace with a standard fastener? Commented Jan 30 at 21:02

According to Wikipedia, that is a LOX-Recess screw drive.
