Hierarchy view is now available in private preview 🥳! View your full issue hierarchy directly in project table views. This gives you complete visibility into complex work breakdowns without losing context or switching between views.

What is hierarchy view?

Hierarchy view allow you to view the complete nesting of sub-issues within GitHub Projects.

What works in this private preview

The initial release supports:

• Toggle on a table view to "Show hierarchy"
• Expanding/collapsing sub-issues up to 8 levels deep
• Grouping, slicing, and filtering
• Sorting (each level sorts independently)
• Editing field values inline
• Viewing only sub-issues already in the project
• Live updates when sub-issues change

What's coming next

• Adding sub-issues inline
• Ability to add sub-issues not in the project already
• Drag and drop support for reordering and reparenting sub-issues
