Hopefully they didn't remove it. Searching here is a core part of the PR workflow and is already firmly lodged into my muscle-memory. 😄

I believe this issue just happened this early morning.
We also faced this issue when tried to create a pull request for my team. At first, I though it was an issue with my laptop, but then I realized we can not filter the branch for any organization in my GitHub.

Is there anyone from the GitHub team can help to look into it and revert the changes please!

as an alternative you can install github CLI

https://cli.github.com/

and use this simple command to create PR:

 gh pr create -B main -H MY-BRANCH-TO-MERGE

I'm not sure why they removed search feature , it's very crucial, also the listing of branches doesn't have any sorting mechanism, hard to follow , please bring it back

Just got an update from the GitHub support team, this is a bug

A workaround for now is using the browser url.
Example:

https://github.com/{repo}/compare/{baseBranch}...{compareBranch}

Temporary Fix:

1. Install a browser extension that'll run/append a javascript to a specific website. I used Custom Site JS extension
2. Add the following script as seen in the screenshot:

    if (selectMenuFilterElements.length === 2) {
        selectMenuFilterElements[0].parentElement.parentElement

        selectMenuFilterElements[1].parentElement.parentElement
            .insertBefore(selectMenuFilterElements[1], selectMenuFilterElements[1].parentElement);

    githubPrFixBranchFilter();
});

I hope this helps you temporarily while waiting for Github to fix it 😄
