I'm Vlad and Peony Software is my one-person software studio, where I exclusively build software that benefits the public good, from lovely Edinburgh, Scotland.
I build software for clients, when this work would benefit the public good. I've built production software for/with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour at the University of Oxford, the Laboratory of Computational Neuroscience at the EPFL, the Optima Consortium for Decision Science, the Burnet Institute, Engie, the Swiss Post, the Swiss Federal Statistical Office, the University of Copenhagen, Sentry for Open Source Pledge, thanks.dev, GlaxoSmithKline, the Romanian Government, and others.
I have extensive experience in systems programming, data science (particularly in life sciences), data visualisation, 3D graphics, web technologies, scientific tooling, compilers, C and machine learning. I have also played a thought leadership role in the Open Source community, and have considerable experience in teaching programming and technical writing.
Cellsum is a next-generation type-safe cross-platform open source spreadsheet program. It's currently in very early development, and it's not very useful right now. If you'd like to hear when I make progress, follow me on Mastodon.
